Children’s Music Activities in Waynesboro

Music Makers, collaboration between Cumberland Valley School of Music and Destination ARTS!, is hosting Musical Play Parties this winter. The parties are for children between the ages of 3 and 8, and feature music, activities, crafts, and snacks.
 
The first two parties are a Princess Party on Saturday, January 21st and a Pirate Party on Saturday, February 4th from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM at Music Makers, 46 W Main Street, Waynesboro, PA. Children and families are encouraged to “dress the theme” for the parties.
 
The Princess Party will include decorating crowns and wands, participating in games such as a princess race and crown toss, as well as decorating and enjoying princess treats. The afternoon will feature a sing-a-long of princess songs, such as “Colors of the Wind,” “Let It Go,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” with a singing Princess, Lydia Hoover. Lydia is a Penn State college student, and a member of the Penn State Thespians, with experience in musical theatre, including a role as Ado Annie in the CASHS performance of “Oklahoma!”

Lydia says she is “very excited to participate in this event! Disney is one of my favorite things and to have the opportunity to become a Disney princess, even for a few hours, is something I’m very excited for!”
 
The Pirate Party will include decorating swords and parrots, participating in games such as “Walk the Plank” and a hook toss, and decorating enjoying pirate treats. The afternoon will feature a sing-a-long of pirate songs with a pirate musician, Ethan Larsh. Since 2008, Ethan has been performing on stage throughout the United States in a variety of rock bands as well as taking on solo gigs. He has written and performed over forty-five original works, many of which can be found online.

Cumberland Valley School of Music and Destination ARTS! are 501 (c) 3 non-profit organizations CVSM offers instruction in piano, voice, guitar and all band and orchestral instruments. More than fifty professional instructors cover a wide variety of music styles from classical to traditional country.
