Musikgarten® Sing With Me (newborn – 3 years (caregiver present))
Engaging in these classes serves as an excellent introduction to creating a musical connection with your child. The curriculum is rich with a variety of activities designed to enhance this bond, including lively bouncing and rocking songs, playful finger plays, and games that promote body awareness. Children will also enjoy singing, moving, dancing, listening, and experimenting with different musical instruments. Seize the day with us as we present the Tony Award-winning musical, Newsies Jr., which celebrates bravery, camaraderie, and the fight for justice. Auditions are solely for role placement, and everyone who registers will be part of the production. Be sure to register before auditioning. Performances are scheduled for March 13 and 14. Alley Cat Studio Sessions (14 and older)

Come and learn about the audio engineering process with a professional recording engineer at Alley Cat Studios! This opportunity is open for those interested in both recording and being recorded and will focus on the specific skills as determined by the participants. Topics that can be covered include the process, equipment, software, and skills needed and utilized by both the artist and the engineer as well as an option to record your playing. The 5 hours can be split up however you wish- one 5-hour session or 5 one-hour sessions- whatever fits your schedule.

Fiddle Sticks (13-16 years)
This intermediate-level string group aims to enhance mastery of ensemble repertoire while preparing for participation in larger ensembles. Members will concentrate on enhancing their listening abilities through the exploration of four-part harmonies and rhythmic interactions among different sections. Their hard work will culminate in a joint concert with the CVSM String Orchestra on November 18, providing an opportunity to showcase their progress.

Experience needed: minimum of two years of prior instruction, whether through school programs or private lessons, is required. Must know at least 2 sharps, key of C, and a flat.

We are pleased to offer opportunities to all high school students planning to audition for PMEA District chorus, band, and orchestra this fall. Students are welcome to participate in one or both. Note: When registering online, please write your instrument in the comments section.

MASTERCLASS:
CVSM faculty will provide students with strategies and other helpful tips as they prepare for their auditions. At least one student volunteer per instrument will perform the audition piece and receive real-time feedback and techniques from the faculty. All students in attendance will listen and learn from the experience of the volunteer.

MOCK AUDITIONS: (Band/Orchestra only)
Perform your prepared district band piece and get individualized feedback from our expert faculty. Exact times will be assigned closer to the date and will be determined by the number of students enrolled.

Folk Jam Session

Get ready to make some music! Join us for an informal folk music jam session, welcoming musicians and singers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. Bring your acoustic instrument or just your voice. This is a space to share original songs, covers, and personal compositions, and to simply enjoy live music. Everyone is welcome, even if you’re just there to listen. It’s a chance to share and learn songs in a welcoming environment, celebrating the spirit of folk music created and shared among friends.

CVSM String Orchestra (all ages)
This ensemble is a wonderful chance for community string players to showcase their skills and collaborate with fellow musicians. A concert is scheduled for November 18 at 7 PM, featuring an exciting array of musical selections. Participants are expected to attend the dress rehearsal on Monday, November 17, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.

No audition required, music is levels 3 and 4.

Experience requested:  First violinists should be proficient up to 5th position, while second violins need to be familiar with the 3rd position. Cellists are expected to play up to the 4th position, and violas should be comfortable in the 1st position.
