Chefs Walk 2017 Serves Up Exciting New Menus and Music
Food and Drink, Live Music, Dancers, and more!
CHAMBERSBURG, PA (May 18, 2017) – Cumberland Valley School of Music (CVSM) presents the 9th Annual Neighborhood Chefs Walk, a celebration of food and drink, music, and community, taking place on June 3, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Chefs Walk is a food and music crawl with local chefs, beer and wine tastings, and over 50 local musicians performing along Alexander Avenue in Chambersburg, PA.
“The Chefs Walk kicks off the summer” said Paula Hepfer, Executive Director of CVSM. “ As always, there will be sumptuous food, festive drink and lots of music held on one of the prettiest streets in town.”
This year’s event features seven food stations from area chefs and restaurateurs who will be preparing and serving their unique culinary delights. Participating chefs and menu themes are as follows:
Chef Aaron Barrick – “Italian”
Spicy Sriracha and Plum Tomato Bruschetta infused with Basil and Roasted Garlic
Crisps cut on the bias from an Italian baguette, tossed with extra virgin olive oil, grated parmesan cheese, oregano and a hint of sage
Fresh Mozzarella and Cherry Tomato Caprese Skewer
Lightly oiled fresh mozzarella pearls skewered with tomatoes, seasoned with fresh basil
Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Cucumber Rounds
Crisp cucumbers topped with zingy horseradish and dill cream cheese, smoked salmon and a dusting of fresh dill

New chefs to the event this year are Pat Young of EJ’s Restaurant and Aaron Barrick, the Director of the Culinary Arts Program at the Career Magnet School in Chambersburg.
Wine and beer sampling stations will be there to accompany the diverse menu options at the Chefs Walk. This year’s participating wineries are Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard (Dundee, NY), Tuscarora Mountain Winery (Chambersburg, PA), and Shade Mountain Winery (Middleburg, PA). There will be beer tastings from Roy Pitz Brewery (Chambersburg, PA), Gear House Brewery and More!
Event entertainment features four stages of live music, strolling musicians, and the Hub City Lindy Hop Dancers. Featured artists this year include: Soleil (Tresa Day and Scott and Laurie Matlock), folk guitar and vocals; the CVSM Jazz Quartet with Brian Helman, Herm Hopple, Tim Gotwald and Sam Hepfer; Stephey’s Kitchen (Ted Guarriello, Dave Stephey and Hannah Stephey Decker); Jo’s Blues; Heather McEndree and Mark Miller, flute and classical guitar; Don’t Look Down, classic rock, bluegrass, country and blues; Ethan Larsh, keyboard and vocals; the CVSM New Horizons Band, under the direction of Keith Smith; and many more exciting local music artists. Performances will range in a variety of musical genres including rock, jazz, Broadway, Blues and more.

Proceeds benefit the Cumberland Valley School of Music (CVSM), a non-profit organization. CVSM offers private and group music lessons as well as numerous classes, workshops, summer camps, and performance opportunities for students of all ages.
