Musikgarten® Twist and Turn (newborn – 3 years, w/caregiver present)
These classes serve as an excellent introduction to creating a musical connection with your child, offering a comfortable setting for families to unite and enjoy music together. The sessions feature a variety of engaging activities such as bouncing and rocking songs, finger plays, games that promote body awareness, as well as singing, dancing, listening, and playing instruments. Siblings aged 4 to 5 are welcome to join in on the fun.

Note: The Chambersburg and Greencastle listings are separate this year. You must choose all 8 from Chambersburg or all 6 from Greencastle. You will find them listed as two separate classes in our registration system. You will be contacted after registering to select the dates and times you plan to attend.

Summer Family Jam (newborn – 5 years w/caregiver present)
Family Jam is the perfect music and movement class for multi-child families and those who benefit from mixed-age play. We sing, dance, bounce, and play instruments to build early music literacy. Wiggles & Giggles (newborn – 3 years w/caregiver present)
Join Wiggles & Giggles and introduce your baby or toddler to the wonderful world of music and movement! In this fun, interactive class, we sing, bounce, rock, dance, and explore instruments together. These engaging activities build a crucial foundation for future musical success while supporting your child’s all-around social, emotional, mental, and physical development. Little Maestros is the perfect class for your growing child! Students continue to develop socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically through music and movement while exploring the sensory world around them. We build upon the fun activities your child enjoyed as a toddler (like singing, dancing, and playing instruments) and add a new level of excitement! This class introduces tonal instruments, sensory exploration, pattern reading, and imaginative play—all unlocked through the magic of music!

Mighty Makers Art Camp (formerly Peewee Picassos) (4-6 years)
Big Imaginations for Little Hands
Using visual art media like paint, drawing, clay and recyclables, our campers will experience their own process-driven journey of discovery to create mini masterpieces and build confidence. Each day we introduce a new art concept while engaging our little artists in discussions designed to increase their understanding of each tool and material used. The week ends with each camper displaying some of their artwork in an exhibition open to parents and family members.

Exploring Musicians
Ages 5-12

Vocal Explorers Camp (5-8 years)
This exciting camp is designed specifically for kids aged 5 to 8 to dive headfirst into the wonderful world of singing. Throughout the week, campers will play musical games that turn vocal building blocks into pure fun. They will be able to discover their own unique “sound” and find their voice in an atmosphere overflowing with joy and creativity. No experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and a ready-to-explore attitude! A performance will be held for friends and family on the final day.

Little Fluters (6-8 years)
Is your child dreaming of playing the flute but not quite big enough for the full-sized instrument? This class is the perfect head start! Using the Nuvo Toot—a lightweight, kid-friendly flute included in the tuition—students will discover the magic of making their first sounds. From reading their first notes to composing original songs, we turn foundational skills into a fun, musical adventure.

Voice & Drama Camp, Jr. featuring scenes and songs from “ANNIE” (entering grades 1-3)
Participants in this exciting week-long camp will enjoy a variety of activities, including learning songs, engaging in theatre games, and collaborating to create a mini-musical. The camp will culminate in a performance alongside the older Voice and Drama campers during the Old Market Day celebration in downtown Chambersburg.

Artistic Adventurers (7-11 years)
Through daily creative projects, this camp will explore a world of color and texture! Campers will develop their skills using a variety of mediums, including paint, drawing materials, fabric, clay, and even “found object” recyclables. Each day introduces a new spark of art history, deepening their appreciation for the masters while helping them discover their own unique style. To celebrate their hard work, the camp concludes with a Mini Art Exhibition, where family and friends are invited to view our campers’ favorite masterpieces!

Piano Discovery Camp (7-11 years)
Curious about the keys? If your child has been eyeing the piano, this camp is the perfect “test drive” before committing to private lessons. We introduce the basics of piano playing in a supportive group setting where beginners can thrive. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to spark a lifelong love for music!

Intermediate/Advanced Guitar Intensive (Ages 12 and older)
Ready to break through the plateau? This accelerated two-session class is designed for seasoned players looking to refine their technical precision and harmonic depth. We will move beyond the basics to tackle complex chord voicings, advanced rhythmic syncopation, and fingerboard fluidity.

Requirements: This course is for players who are already comfortable with barre chords and standard fingerstyle/strumming. Participants must bring their own guitar (acoustic preferred). Join us for two high-impact sessions and bridge the gap between playing songs and mastering the instrument.

Chamber Connections: Small Groups. (12 to adult)
All instruments.  Music for everyone.
Music is meant to be shared! If you’re looking to sharpen your skills and meet fellow musicians, come join our small-group ensemble experience. All instruments are welcome—whether you play the flute, cello, saxophone, or anything in between!

We take the guesswork out of finding a group by pairing participants into ensembles that fit your needs. We can cover the full spectrum of small-group playing—from the deep-rooted traditions of Classical Chamber Music to the high-energy collaboration of forming a Bluegrass Ensemble. Once you’re matched, a CVSM coach will work directly with your group to help you reach your goals—whether that’s mastering a favorite piece, improving your technique, or just finding your groove with others.

It’s all about the joy of collaboration: learning to listen, responding to your partners, and making great music in a relaxed, “come as you are” setting. No pressure: just good music, expert guidance, and great company. Deadline to register is June 15.

Strings Technique Workshop: Bowing (High School and adult)
Elevate your technique and learn the intricacies of producing your most beautiful tone, perfect legato, staccato, spiccato, martelé, and other advanced bowings, as well as how to achieve advanced dynamics, like forte-piano and sfzs!  Open to all stringed instruments; reading is not necessary but helpful. Haitian Drumming Workshop
Join master drummer Hans Dominique, also known as Bwa Gris from the Grammy-nominated group Boukman Eksperyans, as he shares the vibrant history and techniques of Haitian drumming in an engaging workshop for all ages. Having traveled the globe to promote Haiti’s rich musical heritage, Hans invites you to immerse yourself in the call and response traditions that are central to island culture. This experience goes beyond a simple music lesson; it’s a joyful celebration of resilience, heritage, and the power of communal sound.
