Musikgarten® Nimble & Quick (newborn – 3 years, caregiver present)

These classes are the first step toward bonding musically with your child. Activities include bouncing & rocking songs, finger plays, body awareness games, singing, moving, dancing, listening and playing instruments. All of these activities stimulate the brain, foster physical development, and cultivate listening skills. These classes provide a relaxed environment for families to come together and experience music. Musikgarten is a leader in early childhood music education, offering a multi-year program that helps infants, toddlers, and children develop a deep love of music and the ability to express it.

My Musical World (0-3 years, caregiver present)

This class offers adults the opportunity to play with their babies and toddlers in a musical setting, experiencing music and movement activities designed to delight the child and awaken his or her curiosity about music by singing, dancing, bouncing, rocking, and playing instruments.

This class offers a wonderful collection of songs and dances for young children which focuses on the rhythm and music of nature.  Come explore the Crawlers and Creepers, Jumpers and Hoppers, Buzzers and Singers, Swimmers and Leapers, and the Music Makers this summer!  Great fun for the whole family!

Music Together® (18 months – 5 years, caregiver present)

This class explores music in a warm, low-key atmosphere, encouraging families to make  music a part of everyday life, setting in motion a life-long love of and participation in music. Basic music skills will be developed through singing, movement, and the use of rhythm instruments and other props. Parents or caregivers participate in order to learn how to nurture their child’s musical development. The emphasis will be on the child, parent and teacher experiencing the joy of making “Music Together.”

Little Maestros Discovery Camp (3-5 years w/caregiver present)

Pee Wee Picassos (4-6 years)

This class inspires children to express their unique innate creativity and develop fundamental skills through “Art Play”. Using visual art mediums like paint, drawing, clay sculpting and recyclables, Pee Wee Picassos allows each child their own process-driven journey of discovery to create mini masterpieces and build confidence. Each day, we will base our art- making on a children’s storybook (with a life lesson) and we’ll introduce a new art concept while engaging our little artists in discussions designed to increase their understanding of each tool and material used.

Vocal Explorers Camp (5-8 yrs.)

Explore all that your voice can do through song and vocal exploration. This class will teach vocal technique and basic music theory for the young singer through songs, games, and other fun activities.  The camp culminates in a performance for friends and family on the final day.

Artistic Adventurers (7-10 years)

Through daily creative projects, our Artistic Adventurers will develop their skills in using a variety of different art mediums including paint, drawing materials, fabric, clay, recyclable or found objects. Each day will introduce a new element of art history, current events, or a story with a lesson to help deepen the campers’ knowledge/skill level.  We will help campers discover new ways to express their creativity and individuality through the arts. The camp ends with each camper displaying some of their masterpieces in a mini art exhibition open to parents and family members.

Voice & Drama, Jr. (entering grades 1-3 Fall 2021)

Participants in this week-long camp will have fun as they sing, dance, and act as we produce a revue using scenes and songs from different musicals. The camp will end with a performance as part of Old Market Day in downtown Chambersburg.

Voice & Drama (entering grades 4-9 Fall 2021)

As part of this unique performance experience, each camper will have the opportunity to be in a special dance number, a dramatic scene or a special vocal solo, duet, or small ensemble as we produce a revue using scenes and songs from different musicals. Our focus this year will show different perspective of growing up and what is means to be yourself. Song selections are from shows such as Frozen, Peter Pan, Finding Neverland, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Charlie Brown, Addams Family, and more. The camp will end with a performance as part of Old Market Day in downtown Chambersburg.

Join our youth strings teacher for a fun-filled camp where students can learn or enhance their ensemble playing skills! For advanced beginner and intermediate level string players, this camp will focus on technique, musicianship and mastery of ensemble. There will be an informal performance for family on the final day of camp.

The perfect class for beginning level players. Instruction will include tuning, melody playing, chords, rhythms, strumming, and ensemble playing. Students must provide their own guitar, acoustic preferred.

Musical Theatre Dance Workshop (middle school)

All levels welcome! A musical theatre class that teaches how to tell a story through movement and dance. Learn choreography set to songs from Broadway shows such as The Prom, Mean Girls, Waitress, and more! Participants will be led through a warm-up and stretch followed by fun, easy-to-follow choreography. This class is suited for all ages and levels and is guaranteed to help students gain confidence in dance auditions and school performances as we review dance styles found across the musical theatre canon.

Taking lessons with a partner is a great way to try piano before signing up for lessons. Sign up with a friend, sibling, parent, or maybe even the whole family! This sampler option teaches the basics of playing piano in a supportive environment with a partner. Sessions can start at 5 weeks with the option to add on more. Don’t have a partner? Let us know, and we can pair you with another student.

Acting Through Song Workshop (ages 14-18)

Want to sing with the confidence and skill of your favorite Broadway performer? This one-day workshop will teach students to interpret their music and lyrics and tell a story through song. Using useful exercises and techniques that will be applicable beyond the course, each student will be given the chance to work on and present up to three songs of their choice. These songs can later be used in recitals, auditions, or on the stage. A fun, safe, and welcoming environment will teach students not only how to sing with confidence in front of a live audience of peers, but also how to give thoughtful, instructive feedback.

This camp is perfect for teens who love musical theatre! “Showstoppers” will provide students the opportunity to learn essential musical theatre techniques such as vocal projection, diction, stage movement, the actor’s objective and exploration of a show or character’s sub-text.  Songs and scenes will be specifically chosen to showcase each student’s unique talents. The camp will end with a musical revue performance combined with the other Voice & Drama camps at Old Market Day in downtown Chambersburg. Our focus this year will show different perspective of growing up and what is means to be yourself. Song selections are from shows such as The Sound of Music, Charlie Brown, Addams Family, Into the Woods, Shenandoah, and more.

Audition Workshop (ages 14 and older)

Booking a role is more than just reading words on a page.  This 4 hour workshop will give beginning actors the keys they need to successfully audition.  This intensive will teach students how to present themselves in the audition room, how to perform cold reads successfully, how to prepare a monologue, and how to manage expectations when auditioning.  (No Experience Necessary)
