Memorial Day Concert

Band Shell at Chambersburg Memorial Municipal Park
The CVSM Community Symphonic Band will be performing its annual Memorial Day concert at 7:30PM on Monday, May 28, at the Memorial Band Shell at Chambersburg Memorial Municipal Park. Admission to the concert is free, although donations to Cumberland Valley School of Music, the local nonprofit community school of music that sponsors the band and concert, will be greatly appreciated.
The community band includes musicians from all walks of life, including many professional musicians and educators, who enjoy playing challenging concert band repertoire, which runs the gamut from classical music and concert marches to jazz and musical theater.
Under the skilled guidance of band conductor Tim Gotwald, this year’s Memorial Day program will be a diverse mixture of patriotic music and concert band repertoire. A special tribute to the U.S. armed services will honor each branch of military and the men and women who are serving, or have served, either in the United States or overseas.
CVSM welcomes new members to join the band for future performances. Musicians who can read and perform graded band music at Level III or IV (high school level) are invited to participate and there is no charge for playing or attending the concert. For more information call CVSM, (717) 261-1220.
